I'm presently writing a book about the 2015 al-Qaeda attack on the editorial offices of Charlie Hebdo, the satirical French magazine, and the ensuing ISIS massacres a rock concert at Paris’ Bataclan Theatre and a soccer match at the Stade de France.
The text will also revist the 2016 lorrey attack on the Côte d'Azur, as well as the assault on priests and parishioners at a 500-year-old chapel in Normandy, the beheading at an American-owned facility in Lyons, and the ISIS-inspired attack on the 15:17 train from Brussels to Paris.
The social and political contexts of the militant Islamist offensives will be examined, together with the short- and long-term ramifications for the people of France.
The working title is Terror in France: Al-Qaeda and ISIS Terrorist Campaigns, 2015-2016. The book, which will include photos of the attack sites, will be completed in 2020.
