I'm presently writing a book about the 2015 al-Qaeda attack on the editorial offices of Charlie Hebdo, the satirical French magazine. The text will also revisit the ensuing ISIS massacre at a rock concert at the Bataclan Theatre, as well as the ISIS-inspired assault on the 15:17 train from Brussels to Paris.
The social and political contexts of the attacks will be examined, together with the short- and long-term ramifications for the French capital and its people.
The working title is Terror in Paris, and the project will entail research and photography in France at the sites of the terrorist attacks and in the largely Islamic districts of Paris.
Anticipated completion date is 2020.
